Athens, TX. – A woman died after being struck by a car early Sunday morning in Athens.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened in the 4200 block of FM 2709 near SH 19 at around 7 a.m.
A black Chevrolet Silverado pickup was traveling west when it struck the woman.
The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
