The fatal collision happened around 8:39 a.m. on March 24 at the intersection of Bushland Road (RM 2381) and the I-40 service road.
Bushland, TX – One person was killed, and two others were injured Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle collision in Bushland, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision happened around 8:39 a.m. on March 24 at the intersection of Bushland Road (RM 2381) and the I-40 service road.
DPS said a 2009 Peterbilt truck-tractor towing a semi-trailer was stopped at the stop sign on the service road at the intersection. A 2019 Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on Bushland Road, approaching the intersection.
The semi-truck tried to turn onto Bushland Road and was struck by the Ford as it entered the intersection.
The Ford driver, 71-year-old Cathy Lynn Erickson of Bushland, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Ford, 69-year-old Sheri Ann Centner, of Wiley, Colorado, was airlifted to an Amarillo hospital with serious injuries.
The semi-truck driver, 41-year-old Ricardo Anguinaga, of Dumas, was taken to an Amarillo hospital with serious injuries.
The DPS is investigating the accident.

The fatal collision was reported around 8:40 a.m. on March 24 at the intersection of Simmons Road and I-40.
Deputies said a semi-truck and a pickup truck were involved in the collision.
One person in the pickup truck was killed in the accident. Another person in the vehicle was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the semi-truck was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
No further details were provided.
The Texas DPS is investigating the accident.
