Dallas, TX – The tow truck driver who was fatally hit by an intoxicated driver Wednesday morning in Dallas has been identified as 66-year-old Guillermo Garcia, according to the authorities.
The deadly accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on March 18 on Interstate 20 near Spur 408 near Mountain Creek Parkway.
Authorities said Garcia had stopped on the side of the highway to fix a flat tire when an SUV swerved and hit him. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The SUV driver, 41-year-old Selvin Amador Morazon, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter. He admitted to have been drinking hours before the accident. He was suspected of being in the country illegally.
An investigation is underway.

Deputies said the tow truck driver was standing outside their vehicle along the westbound lanes when they were struck by a vehicle.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where they later died. Their identity has not been released.
The suspected driver was facing an intoxication manslaughter charge.
