Israel Beltran Killed, Lio Acero Seriously Injured in Nolan County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 70
Nolan County, Texas – One person was killed and another was seriously injured early Wednesday morning in a head-on collision in Nolan County, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal crash happened around 6:41 a.m., June 5, on State Highway 70, about six miles south of Sweetwater.
DPS said Israel Enrique G Beltran, 26, of Colorado City, was driving an SUV northbound on the highway while Lio Acosta Acero, 62, of Midland, was driving a pickup truck southbound.
Beltran steered left into the southbound lane and crashed head-on into Acero’s truck.
Beltran was pronounced dead at the scene.
Acero was taken to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo with incapacitating serious injuries.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
