San Antonio, Texas – A man has been arrested in connection to the motorcycle crash that left a Lubbock DJ dead last Saturday in San Antonio, according to the Lubbock Police Department.

Steve Nerio, 48, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The deadly accident happened around 2:00 a.m., April 20, on Highway 90 near the General McMullen Exit.

Police said Nerio was driving a Harley Davidson when he made an illegal maneuver while entering U.S. Highway 90 from South General McMullen and crashed into a red tow truck.

Nerio’s passenger, Amy Lee Garza, 44, of Lubbock, Texas, was ejected from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene. She was known by her fans as Amy O, a popular DJ on 104.9 FM The Beat (KBTE), a Hip-Hop station in Lubbock where she worked for the last 15 years, and DJ and Content Director for the station.

Nerio was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He told investigators that he had consumed an alcoholic beverage from a margaritas to-go location before the crash. He was arrested and charged and was being held in the Bexar County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
