Arlington, TX – The woman who was killed on Friday in a two-vehicle collision in Arlington has been identified as 54-year-old Tanya Cypert, according to the authorities.
The fatal accident happened around 12:34 p.m. on March 6 at the intersection of South Cooper Street and Eden Road.
Authorities said Cypert was driving a 2022 Hyundai Tucson southbound on Cooper Street and was in a turn lane attempting to turn left onto Eden Road when her car was hit by a northbound 2025 Mercedes-Benz.
Cypert was taken to the hospital, where she later died. Her dog was also killed in the accident. A GoFundme was set up to support her family.
The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, a man, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Speed was a factor in the accident.
The Mercedes-Benz might have been street racing before the accident, according to the authorities.
The collision remains under investigation.

The fatal collision happened at about 12:30 p.m. on March 6 at the intersection of S. Cooper St and Eden Road.
Police said multiple vehicles were involved in the collision.
One of the drivers, a woman, was taken to the hospital, where she later died. Her name has not been released.
The accident closed all northbound lanes of Cooper Street near Eden Road.
The police are investigating the accident.
